Asia University’s College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science hosted the “2025 International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) Taichung Regional,” known as the “Olympics of Programming,” from November 14 to 16 at the Roman Arena Gymnasium. The event attracted 110 teams from 41 universities across Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and other countries, with 360 outstanding students competing onsite and over 2,900 teams participating online worldwide. Ultimately, the National University of Singapore won the championship, earning a spot in the ICPC World Finals.

Asia University President Jeffrey J.P. Tsai noted that since its founding in 1977, the ICPC has become the world’s largest and most influential collegiate programming competition. Contestants are challenged to solve complex problems and write programs under strict time limits, showcasing innovation, logical thinking, and teamwork. This year, 100 teams from 31 Taiwanese universities advanced from three preliminary rounds to the Taichung regional contest, making the competition highly intense.
