This year (2024), undergraduate enrollment has once again reached full capacity. Founder Tsai Chang-Hai emphasized the university's commitment to becoming a world-class institution.
Tsai stated that as the world faces an aging population, the demand for smart healthcare, precision medicine, elderly health, and long-term care continues to grow. The integration of healthcare and technology presents immense opportunities in the health industry. Therefore, cultivating AI-driven healthcare professionals is a key mission for Asia University.
President Jeffry J.P Tsai highlighted that Asia University has been actively advancing AI education for the past seven years, establishing an AI Research Center and implementing AI-based teaching across all disciplines. Last year, he led an AI team to the U.S. to collaborate with Harvard University and MIT on AI-powered healthcare initiatives. Additionally, he conferred an honorary doctorate to AMD CEO Dr. Lisa Su and established the "AMD Logic and Computing Laboratory" at Asia University to support research, teaching, and industry collaboration.
In March of this year, President Jeffry J.P Tsai and his AI team traveled to the U.S. again to meet with Harvard professors and NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang to discuss AI-driven healthcare research projects. In June, they participated in the Taipei Computex event at AMD’s exhibition center, exploring seven AI research projects utilizing the university's AMD lab.
Asia University is also expanding its healthcare infrastructure. Its affiliated hospital, which opened eight years ago, is now constructing a second hospital in Fengyuan District, along with a long-term care facility, a biotechnology hub, and a public childcare center. These initiatives will train 2,000 professionals to join the workforce. By continuously establishing medical institutions and spin-off enterprises, Asia University ensures that students gain hands-on experience and secure high-paying jobs upon graduation.
