Asia University continues to demonstrate outstanding achievements in AI-driven practical education. The College of Computer Science and Information Engineering recently held the NVIDIA Deep Learning Institute (DLI) hands-on training program, in which 39 faculty members and students successfully obtained certification, marking an impressive pass rate. According to statistics, AU has accumulated a total of 139 NVIDIA DLI certifications—ranking first among all universities in Taiwan. This accomplishment highlights the university’s strong advantages in AI talent development and its ability to cultivate high-potential, cross-disciplinary professionals equipped for million-dollar annual salary careers.
In response to the rapid evolution of AI technologies, AU has been actively enhancing students’ proficiency in large language model (LLM) applications. In collaboration with Leadtek, the university organized a hands-on workshop titled “Building LLM Applications with Prompt Engineering.” The event was jointly led by Dean Ching-Hsien Hsu of the College of Computer Science and Information Engineering and Chief Information Officer Chun-Yuan Lin, attracting participants from the colleges of Computer Science, Nursing, and Medical and Health Sciences. Centered on prompt engineering, the course guided learners from basic operations to cross-scenario application design. Even participants without a computer science background gained insight into the potential of AI in healthcare and intelligent services. Following the workshop and online assessment, 39 participants successfully earned certification.
AU President Jeffrey J. P. Tsai emphasized that, in an era driven by technology and global competitiveness, the university is committed to developing a comprehensive AI talent cultivation ecosystem aligned with the needs of smart healthcare and the broader health industry. By earning internationally recognized certifications such as NVIDIA DLI and Amazon AWS, AU students gain a strong competitive edge upon graduation, with opportunities to secure high-salary positions overseas earning USD 70,000 to 80,000 annually.
Dean Ching-Hsien Hsu noted that AI technologies have become a core competency across all fields, and the ability to understand and apply LLMs will be a key competitive advantage in future careers. Over the past year, AU has offered a series of NVIDIA certification programs covering deep learning, accelerated computing, and generative AI model training, helping students build a solid international-level foundation. The university plans to expand these certification programs into regularly scheduled courses each semester to benefit even more students and faculty.
In addition to its collaboration with NVIDIA, AU has established the “Cloud Innovation Academy” with Amazon AWS, with 133 students already earning AWS certifications. This demonstrates the university’s strong capabilities across multiple platforms and advanced technology domains. Certified students range from sophomores to graduate students across computer science, biomedical science, and artificial intelligence programs. Leveraging their solid AI skills, AU students have collectively earned over a hundred awards in domestic and international competitions.
CIO Chun-Yuan Lin highlighted that AU is fully advancing AI education and the development of a smart campus. Through hands-on training and industry collaboration, the university accelerates the integration of AI competencies across academic disciplines. By combining structured training with real-world industry expertise, students can obtain international certifications while still in school. AU will continue strengthening its partnerships with Leadtek and other industry leaders to expand certification opportunities and broaden training initiatives—empowering students to move from the classroom to the global stage of the technology industry.
